Ockanickon Sign-up 2011

Please fill out the form below to indicate whether you (as a Troop 8 Scout) or your Scout (if you’re a Troop 8 parent) plan to attend Ockanickon with us in June.

For parents of new scouts: your son will participate in the Dan Beard program for first year scouts. Details of this program can be found here. The Dan Beard program has merit badges classes (typically including Swimming and Fire Safety) built into the curriculum.

For Scouts making merit badge choices, please pay attention to prerequisites or merit badges, and make sure you consider activities that are not on the one page “master schedule.” There are many interesting activities that are not on that one page “master schedule”. Mountain biking. Sailing. Golf. Horseback riding. Photography. If you find something you want to do or try, we will make every effort to support you. Pay attention to where there may be extra costs, for which the individual camper is responsible.

You can find prerequisites in the full activity schedule (link above). This is your best reference for planning. Don't expect to sign up for a merit badge for which you have not done the prerequisites, and cannot present proof of having accomplished them. All proof of having completed pre-requisites will be reviewed before we leave for camp.

The form below may be submitted more than once - it automatically populates a Google Docs spreadsheet, and each entry is time-stamped. We will use the most recent entry you make.

Scouts, if you have any questions, contact the SPL, ASPL, or your patrol leader. Parents, if you have questions, please contact Andy Mullin at 301-530-1502
